Yes, the money’s important and it is vital that you pay competitive wages for your industry (and we can help you assess that). However, for at least a segment of your employee population, there’s more to it than just the money. For some, a major driver might be your health insurance plan, or whether you offer tuition reimbursement or continuing education opportunities or whether you offer flexible work schedules, etc.  Do you sponsor recreational sports teams for your employees or subsidize their gym memberships?  Do you give unexpected “spot bonuses” for employees who go above and beyond?  Do you communicate with your employees about your business’ financial position and how it impacts operations?  Do you celebrate successes?  Are you “family friendly”?
